Around 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, producing strong winds reaching 109km/h.

Massive Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Destruction

Residents reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7 centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Utility workers were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units activated to address the numerous electricity disruptions.

Victoria's Weather Woes

Meanwhile, nearly one thousand households in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its wettest day in a year and a half.

Rescue organizations responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

• Wyndham region - nearly 180 help reports

At the height on yesterday, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were without power.

Weather Forecast

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.

Health Warning

Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the state's northern country region, particularly given the current weather patterns.

This warning comes after previous incidents where analogous circumstances led to major medical consequences in the area.
